DISCOVER THE SDGS - TO MAKE PEACE WITH NATURE

Following the successful launch of Discover the SDGs - To Power the Decade of Action, a second edition entitled Discover the SDGs - To Make Peace with Nature was held in April 2021, convened by the Conscious Fashion Campaign in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships. The event was a virtual educational experience aimed at accelerating climate action and ambition from the global fashion industry.

The digital learning hub, supported by Arch and Hook, bluesign, Lenzing, and TIPA, focused on Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action and the United Nations Secretary-General’s 2021 priority to make peace with nature.

Our economic response to COVID-19 gives all sectors an opportunity to recover greener and more sustainably. The $2.4 trillion fashion industry is uniquely positioned to collaborate and engage on all the Sustainable Development Goals at every stage—globally and locally for people and for the planet.
— Annemarie Hou, acting Executive Director, United Nations Office for Partnerships

COMMITMENT TO ACTION

In the continued effort to accelerate global fashion industry action in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Conscious Fashion Campaign provided virtual education during the COVID-19 pandemic to place the Sustainable Development Goals at the center of the conversation as the fashion sector adapted priorities for recovery.

PARTNERSHIP

The Conscious Fashion Campaign curated informational tools and resources from United Nations agencies, environmental organizations, and fashion initiatives confronting the global climate crisis in support of Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action. Additionally, the experience supported the Race to Zero campaign and aimed to rally the fashion industry for a healthy, resilient, zero carbon recovery that prevents future threats, creates decent jobs, and unlocks inclusive sustainable growth.

Despite the very difficult year we just faced, I am optimistic in looking at what businesses can do to promote sustainability. The SDGs provide a unified framework to achieve this by 2030. We are glad to support the Conscious Fashion Campaign and Discover the SDGs - To Make Peace With Nature which will provide valuable tools for advancing knowledge at the intersection of the SDGs and the global fashion industry
— Jill Dumain, CEO, bluesign

With our continued commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, Lenzing is pleased to extend our partnership for a second edition of Discover the SDGs. As the fashion industry recalibrates to reduce environmental impact and raise social standards, we recognize the need to collaborate in order to reach significant goals.
— Tricia Carey, Director Global Business Development Apparel, Lenzing
