DRAPERS SUSTAINABLE FASHION
Drapers, the UK's number one fashion news, trends, and analysis resource, launched Drapers Sustainable Fashion as a conference and awards platform after identifying a growing need for information and guidance on sustainability from their readership – the businesses responsible for doing so much of the damage.
Drapers Sustainable Fashion Conference brings together over 350 UK fashion industry sustainability-focused decision-makers to discuss how to transition to a greener future and the need for the industry to work collaboratively towards sustainability. The Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards recognise the strides that are being made in reducing the industry’s environmental impact and creating fairer working conditions across the supply chain.
Drapers has been the leading authority on fashion retailing in the UK since 6 August 1887 and strives to educate, inspire and connect the newcomers and leaders alike in this innovative sector. Readers trust the outlet to deliver high-quality, independent journalism that helps them to remain competitive in today's challenging and fast-changing trading environment. The community of key decision-makers, 65% Director/C-Suite, across print and digital platforms include 65k print readership, 645k monthly page views, and 42.5k daily newsletter recipients.
“Working with the Conscious Fashion Campaign enables Drapers to help businesses align with and collaborate to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.”
COMMITMENT TO ACTION
Drapers announced a ground-breaking partnership with the Conscious Fashion Campaign to support the Sustainable Development Goals and promote the 2030 Agenda within the fashion retail sector through its leading print magazine, digital media platform, and its series of conferences, events, and awards ceremonies.
PARTNERSHIP
Drapers' commitment to promoting the Sustainable Development Goals was placed at the center of the Drapers Sustainable Fashion Conference programming. Aligned with the Conscious Fashion Campaign’s mission for events to implement responsible operations and logistics, Drapers Sustainable Fashion 2020 took place at Kings Place - a BREEAM certified building with strong environmental principals at its heart. The chosen venue generates half the CO2 emissions of a building of similar size - a reduction equivalent to 1,000 tonnes of CO2 a year.
The Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards, underpinned by the Sustainable Development Goals, is a market-leading awards program that shines a spotlight on best practices within the industry, ranging from awards for brands and retailers of the year which cover the Best Circularity Initiative, Sustainable Textile Innovation, and Best Use of Technology for Good.
