COMMITMENT TO ACTION
Pure London is dedicated to advancing the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through campaigning, education, exhibitions, and convening of fashion and retail stakeholders.
PARTNERSHIP
In collaboration with the Conscious Fashion Campaign, Pure London expanded the sustainability awareness campaign ‘Power of One’ with an exhibitor program highlighting fashion brands aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals and a dedicated Sustainable Business Toolkit by Common Objective to help guide brands on how to develop tools for action towards a sustainability strategy. The Power of One aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and offered five easy-to-adopt pledges to help each industry stakeholder take action to make a positive change for people and planet. Guided by the Sustainable Development Goals, Pure London and the Fashion Together digital platform delivered education highlighting United Nations agencies, global key issues, and solutions via panel discussions, curated exhibitions, selfie pledge stations, and media breakfasts convened by the Conscious Fashion Campaign.
With a focus on implementing operations and logistics that are mindful of social, economic, and environmental impact, Pure London worked closely with the venue, Olympia London, to ensure approximately 98% of onsite waste was recycled and all unused food was donated to local charity Harvest City London. The pledge to no plastic continued, all shell schemes were reusable, the electrical systems installed were reusable, lighting was low wattage LED, and all carpets were fully recyclable.
